I spent the whole of Stacey's wedding reception helping in the kitchen. Once the the time hit 8:30, the line broke up and we stopped serving refreshments. The "cake" was cut (in this instance it was an ingenious cupcake-wedding-cake made by another sister, Holly), the bouquet was thrown, and the party came to an end! I headed off to round up my kids who had been playing in the Primary room all evening under Brett's masterful supervision. When I arrived and announced it was all over and it was time to go, Dallin burst into tears. He was completely devastated. His world had come to an end.
Surprised by his reaction, I asked him what was wrong and through great heaving sobs he replied, "I missed the wedding! I'll never get to see it again! I missed the dancing!"
In Dallin's mind, nothing could have been more tragic.
As luck would have it, there had been no dancing at the end of the reception, so I assured Dallin of this. We couldn't have a 5-year-old boy scarred for life because he missed the dancing at his aunt's wedding, so I ran in and told Stacey how devastated Dallin was. Without even blinking she grabbed her new husband and headed towards the dance floor. Music began to play, the couple began to dance, and Dallin was brought in to enjoy the spectacle.

My little gentleman asked me for a dance and we joined the other couples on the dance floor. We danced. His eyes sparkled. My heart exploded.
It was a lovely way to end the evening.

Wow, now that kid knows what's important in a wedding reception! Your sister is so sweet to have put it on just for him. And to think, you got a little added bonus out of his request too. Isn't it a beautiful thing to still be so completely in love with your mate?!!!
What a sweet story! I'm glad the tradgedy was averted so smoothly :)It sounds like the wedding was a success all around!
