Mia's Birthday Fun!

I think Mia had a pretty fun birthday! She was the last one awake in the morning, so the other kids and I all gathered in her room and sang her awake with a little Happy Birthday to you. Here she is looking perky with her birthday "Mia" pancake:

After a much-needed birthday makeover, we got to go pick up Dallin from school because he was feeling "sick." His illness was debatable, but at least Mia got to have another friend around on her birthday!

Mia was pretty thrilled with her pink decorated door and love-sentiments!

She's sure growing up fast!

After Dicie got home from school we had a little party with the neighborhood kid-crowd. It was super simple, but the kids had fun. We got to use up some leftover Halloween candy with the Pinata!

Note to self: next time take the pinata rope down from the balcony railing BEFORE the kids start practicing their Tarzan moves...

Mia had fun opening gifts. The poor kid got like 3 new outfits and a jacket from us -- seriously what do you get for a kid 10 days before Christmas?! Luckily the neighborhood friends came through and she got a couple of cute toys from them.

We ended the party with cupcakes and ice cream - pink, pink, pink was the order of the day.

That night I took the kids out to dinner. Brett is on a business trip this week, so I'm on my own. For some reason I thought it would be a brilliant idea to take the kids out to eat instead of messing up my kitchen any more. I'm sure the people around us at Applebee's were thrilled to be sitting by the lady with 5 kids and the screaming baby. I really can't win lately - the baby was perfectly fine until we were seated at our booth, then she screamed for the next 15 minutes. Combine that with trying to keep Jameson from standing up in his highchair or crawling accross the table, constantly reminding the other kids to keep their voices down and stay in their seats, and answering Dallin's repeated queries of, "when will our food be here?" and you can imagine what fun we had! Luckily my patience level was higher than normal or I might have had child-protective-services following me home.

I think Mia had a nice birthday and I'm sure glad she's my little girl!
