I think Mia had a pretty fun birthday! She was the last one awake in the morning, so the other kids and I all gathered in her room and sang her awake with a little Happy Birthday to you. Here she is looking perky with her birthday "Mia" pancake:
After Dicie got home from school we had a little party with the neighborhood kid-crowd. It was super simple, but the kids had fun. We got to use up some leftover Halloween candy with the Pinata!
That night I took the kids out to dinner. Brett is on a business trip this week, so I'm on my own. For some reason I thought it would be a brilliant idea to take the kids out to eat instead of messing up my kitchen any more. I'm sure the people around us at Applebee's were thrilled to be sitting by the lady with 5 kids and the screaming baby. I really can't win lately - the baby was perfectly fine until we were seated at our booth, then she screamed for the next 15 minutes. Combine that with trying to keep Jameson from standing up in his highchair or crawling accross the table, constantly reminding the other kids to keep their voices down and stay in their seats, and answering Dallin's repeated queries of, "when will our food be here?" and you can imagine what fun we had! Luckily my patience level was higher than normal or I might have had child-protective-services following me home.
I think Mia had a nice birthday and I'm sure glad she's my little girl!

You have such fun birthday traditions, Angie! I can't imagine pulling all that off by myself, though! Especially the Applebee's trip! Ah well, we learn from experience, right? :)
Happy Birthday, Mia!
You are truly a brave woman! I get totally overwhelmed with just 3 kids when I am on my own! I LOVE the cupcake tower, by the way- so much easier and kid-adorable than a cake if you ask me.
I'm glad she had a fun day. I agree, it's hard to know what to get someone that close to Christmas. That was pretty amazing of you to try to take the kids to a real restaurant by yourself! I wouldn't even take my two kids to anywhere but a fast food joint by myself. ( :
Happy Birthday, Mia! How cute and exciting. Those are great b-day traditions.
