Away From it All

As soon as school was out I proclaimed that I needed a break!  So I drove 5 1/2 hours, just the 5 kids and me.  Good times!  We spent the weekend in Utah just to hang out and have fun.
We managed to get all the family more or less together while I was there.  Here we have a lovely shot of all 10 grandkids.  The fun will just continue to multiply exponentially in the coming years...

We went to the park and let the kids play...

We went to the Orem Summerfest Parade, arriving just seconds too late.  I literally had to SPRINT to get to the parking lot at the end of the parade to snap a couple pictures of my two brothers in the marching band...

...and my adorable niece, Rosie the Riveter, who won best costume in the baby contest!
My kids love parades!  Dallin was really bummed that he didn't get to see Uncle Tracy and Uncle Brady marching though.

Mia had a great time tormenting Avery in her spare time...

...and everyone had a great time feeding the ducks!

...well, ALMOST everyone.

My sisters-in-law had a girl's night out while we were there, and it was a lot of fun to go out with them!  We ate at Los Hermanos, my favorite Mexican place, then went back to Carrie's place for facials.  It was so much fun that it put Carrie into labor!  Their much-anticipated baby Elizabeth, arrived the next day and it was a special treat to be able to see and snuggle her (and smell her head) before I had to go home.

Jamo and Avery took turns screaming all the way home.

And I was pretty proud of myself that I made it the whole way without leaving one of them on the side of the road with a cardboard sign.

"Boise or Bust!"

Sorry to hear you had screaming all the way home. I feel for you. Lately I've been ready to send Miriam to the insane asylum because her screaming sounds like a crazy dude! I love the pic of all our kids together. Totally hilarious! I'm excited to see all the pictures you did for us.

Glad you had a good time! We just did a quick weekend jaunt, and I nearly went crazy WITH Reed to help me! It was fun though!
Glad you are home safe...

Yeah, I was feeling old as it was. Then I saw that Tracy and Brody (Brady? See! I am old!) are old enough to be in marching band. Isn't Tracy still in preschool? Sheesh. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
