Not Awesome, Awesome, and Like, Totally Awesome

Not Awesome: Those 20-25 lbs that I really need to lose after baby #6. They have me in a death-grip. Not to mention I think I have a slight mood-related food addiction.

Awesome: Finally finding something that is sorta-kinda-sometimes helping me to feel motivated enough to exercise and eat better. Last week I joined MyFitnessPal.com. It tracks your calories, exercise, etc. My favorite thing is that they track your net calories, so the more you exercise the more you get to eat! {Happy Dance!} (Ooh, did I just burn some calories?!)

Not Awesome: When MyFitnessPal tells me if I continue eating as many calories as I did yesterday that I will gain 5 pounds in 5 weeks.

Awesome: I am seriously blessed to have my body. I'm trying to take care of it better and overcome some of my negative food and lifestyle habits/addictions.

Not Awesome: Green smoothies don't taste half as good when you substitute water for mango juice. Bleh.

Awesome: I bought chocolate covered pomegranates at Costco today. It's called exercise incentive.

Not Awesome: Walking at 4 mph on the treadmill kicks my butt. I have short legs and can barely keep up. I know I should just run, but "walking, very brisk pace" sounds better than "running, very slow pace."

Like, Totally Awesome: Hoofin' in on the treadmill and feeling like a wuss, then hearing Avery chant "Go Mommy! Go Mommy! Go! Go! Go Mommy!"

Totally agree with all, especially the chocolate covered pomegranates from Costco. I always bring back at least 2 big bags with me. You can do it Mommy!

That post was totally AWESOME! I used a similar website when I was trying to loose baby weight after #3. It was helpful and really got me thinking about all the useless calories I was taking in. I'm cheering for you Mama!

You are awesome for many many reasons, starting with 6 kids!!! Exercise will always be a part of my life just because I love eating so much. I'm going to have to try those chocolate covered pomegranates.

I LOVE myfitnesspal.com! When I am really dilligent and keep it up-to-date, it really helps me to stay on track. I love that it has a barcode scanner too :)

Okay, I'm just going to throw this out there for you. NOTHING motivates me more to keep on an exercise schedule than signing up for a race. Start with a 5k. When you have a date set for a goal you have to achieve, it will make your workouts more of a necessary part of your day rather than something just to try to fit in, if there is time. And, races are actually kind of fun :) There are tons of them in the summertime, too. If races aren't your thing, find something that you have to work towards.

Love you!
Kim
