Boise Temple Open House

The Boise Temple was closed in July of 2011 for extensive renovations. We definitely missed having our 5-minutes-away temple open and available to us! But we surely felt the blessings that came from the sacrifices made to attend the temple during that time. We were so blessed to be able to attend the Twin Falls Temple quite often as were always able to stay at the Grandma & Grandpa Dodds hotel and take advantage of their free babysitting service. We just love Twin Falls and found, after attending the temple there over the past year, that it just feels like OUR temple now.

OUR Twin Falls Temple - So Beautiful!

It was thrilling to drive by the Boise temple often and see the construction taking place. We gradually watched as the exterior of the temple and the grounds were completely re-done.

Finally it was announced that the Open House would begin in October! The prospect of bringing our kids to the temple was exciting! We came on October 18th and had a wonderful experience seeing the new renovations and feeling the Spirit with our family in the House of the Lord.

Dicie invited her friend, Karissa, and it was a neat experience for all of us to have a small missionary experience with her!

Brett and I were also given the wonderful opportunity of serving as tour guides for the Open House. We worked on two separate occasions, October 31st (Yes, Halloween Night!) and November 7th. We loved it!

The Temple Re-dedication was held on November 18th. We were able to attend at our Stake Center with Dicie and Dallin. It was wonderful to see and hear our prophet and to participate in the dedication. I'm sure we'll always treasure our memories of this experience! We look forward to the time when the Meridian Temple will be completed. At this time the ground-breaking has not been announced, but we look forward to it!
