Canning - Part 2

On Saturday we canned pears! It was the perfect day for it because it was stormy and rainy outside so it was nice and cool. Brett and I worked together and got 45 jars done. Surprisingly, we both enjoyed canning together! I was thrilled that Brett enjoyed it so much. I'm not saying he LOVED it, but he was surprised to find that it wasn't too bad. Doing it together was definitely the best part. We'll be canning together a lot more in the future for sure - he he!

Holly said...: Yeah, canning may not be the most fun project in the world, but it is rather satisfying, and not really all that much work! You have a lot of mayo jars too it looks like. I hope you were able to fit everything in your canners.; September 23, 2008 at 4:42 PM

In our home we’re surrounded by tender little growing things. We water and fertilize, weed when needful, and try our best to turn the heads of our sprouting plants towards the sun. Most days we realize that gardening is hard and that our thumbs are more black than green.

Thankfully, when we rely on the Master Gardener, He watches over our field and shows us how to grow. We know the day of our harvest will come much too quickly, but we hope to find joy in the fruits of our labors. Until then we learn and do what we can to cultivate our little Munchkin Garden! Here we record our progress and all the fun and craziness along the way.
