Thanksgiving On Our Own

This year we spent Thanksgiving by ourselves! We went to Utah last weekend to see my sister's play. We spent time with family and even enjoyed an early Thanksgiving feast at my parent's house on Saturday. It was a nice weekend, but we had to go home Sunday and couldn't stay through until Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a quiet day here on our own instead. We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV because we were too lazy (and still in our jammies) to go downtown to the parade here! I fixed a big dinner, complete with all the fixings, and it was yummy. I do have to say, though, that cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 2 adults and 3 picky children is highly inefficient!! It still takes all the work, and makes a huge mess, but there's not enough people to eat it all! I guess we can just be grateful for all the yummy leftovers! Here we are ready for our feast - is it just me or does it look like the red punch is the highlight of the meal?! Ha ha, oh well.

Later in the evening we played "Life." The kids thought it was pretty great to be millionares! The highlight for them, though, was landing on the "new baby" spots! I love that they like babies and want to be parents when they grow up.
All in all Thanksgiving was pretty low-key around here, just like us.

Where's all the food in that picture? I only see the punch and people. ( : Sounds like your day was a tad more exciting than ours. We were all sick so we stayed home too. I'll be posting a blog about it soon.
