I have a confession to make. I love playing dress-up with my children! Long before Easter or Christmas roll around I can be found daydreaming (read: browsing the internet) about the perfect ensembles for my little ones. Regardless of how full of perfectly decent dressy duds their closets are, they must have new things for the holiday. And they must coordinate.
Is it a sickness?
Do I require a 12-step program or a short stay in a rehabilitation center in a peaceful mountain location? (Hmmm, that last one sounds tempting...)
Nope. It's hereditary.
Now don't get me wrong, I also love to sew, although I haven't become as gifted as my mother and wonder if I ever will! But after two or three attempts at sewing dressy little duds for my own munchkins I have given it up. 1: Being a perfectionist I am never fully satisfied with the end results. 2: Sewing clothing for your children is EXPENSIVE. It is not the money-saver that it was in my mother's day. 3: I just can't stay away from the adorable fashions calling my name from every children's clothing store in town!!
So, unlike me, I guess my kids won't get the chance to boast about the beautiful, homemade duds their dear mother made for them.

Ha ha- I love Mia's belly poking out from her skirt! ( : It IS fun to dress everyone up isn't it? I always thought we were hot stuff in our matching home-made clothes growing up. I can't bring myself to buy outfits because I'm too cheap these days. I have so many hand me downs that I can hardly get the girls to wear all the dresses we have more than once or twice! I kind of wish I wasn't getting hand me down dresses so I wouldn't feel guilty for buying them matching dresses. Oh well! I can just enjoy other people's coordinating ensembles. Like yours!
Dido on the Mia belly. he he. Your family is so so soooo ADORABLE! I love those pics from your childhood. Dicie looks just like you!
