Saying Goodbye

I've been dreading this post. I knew it was coming, but I was in denial.

This past weekend we had to say goodbye to some dear friends of ours. The Medinas (Esau, Daphney, Nya, Kade, Kaleb, and Aleaha) moved to Logan, Utah where Esau will begin a Master's program at Utah State. This family has been such a part of our lives for the past 3 years. We have the same number of kids and they are all nearly the same ages. We've seen each other through pregnancies, new babies, and lots of good times.
Saturday was moving day, and it ended up being a pretty rough day! A lot of unexpected delays put us on the road at 8:30 - P.M! We drove down to Logan with the Medinas to tow a trailer for them. It was a late night and we were all thankful to arrive safely and awake! We were definitely packed to the hilt:
Our family stayed in Brigham City with my sister that night and we made the quick drive up the canyon to Logan on Sunday morning. We dropped off the trailer and unloaded our Suburban, but we were reluctant to leave! Daphney made us a fabulous lunch, but then it was time to say goodbye.

These two have been attached at the hip for a long time now. Miss Nya has been such a good friend to my Dicie and we are so sad that she'll be far away. Dicie literally cried herself to sleep that night. I'm sure there will be a lot of letters exchanged this summer.
They may be a motley little crew, but I just love these kids. I feel like they are my own.
We'll sure miss our Medinas! We hope to see them off and on when we make trips to Utah, but Boise just won't be the same without them.

I'm sad to see them go, too! :-( Good friends are there no matter how many miles separate you, though!
