Movie Review: Behind the Mask

I haven't reviewed any movies for a while. Why? I haven't seen anything that was good AND clean enough to deserve a spot here on the blog. Recently I noticed several movies in the Deseret Book catalog that were not LDS films. I thought I'd give them a try, assuming that I couldn't go wrong with a recommendation from Deseret Book! "Behind the Mask" did not disappoint.
This film, starring Donald Sutherland (he's great) and Matthew Fox (he's on "Lost" and rather dreamy), is about Robert Shushan (Sutherland) who receives a late-in-life wake up call. Through his relationship with mentally-disabled James Jones (Fox), Shushan discovers what is really important in life, repairs some of the damage he has done in the past, and begins a path of healing and resolution.
This is a wonderful film and I was surprised to learn that is is based on a true story. Actual footage of the real-life characters is shown at the end. Very moving and uplifting! Put this one on your Netflix queue today!
