Tough Exterior

The other day I had to banish Dicie and Dallin to their respective rooms. (I think anyone would agree that it is NOT okay to wrap your 3-year-old sister in a plastic Twister mat.) As usually happens when I send my kids to their rooms, I promptly forgot about them. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Luckily Brett was around and he went up, after an appropriate length of time, to give them a talking-to and put an end to their imprisonment. He poked his head into Dallin's room and told him he could come downstairs. Dallin has a tendency to be stubborn and sulk, so Brett wasn't the least surprised when he didn't budge from his position on his bed. After talking to him some more and still not eliciting a response, he got close enough to realize that the stubborn set of his chin and the arms folded resolutely across his chest were only secondary to the heavy breathing and soft snoring to be heard upon closer examination.
As you can see, all it takes is a cool pair of sunglasses and a stubborn disposition to fool the smartest of parents.

You're going to have to tease him with that picture when he's older! Ha ha!
