This past weekend we took a trip to Utah and went camping with our good friends, the Medinas. We've missed them like crazy since they moved to Logan, so it was a lot of fun to be reunited and hang out for a while! It was a real adventure trying to find a camping spot at Bear Lake on Pioneer Day weekend, but we finally found a place that worked out just fine. We ended up on the Idaho side of Bear Lake and we started the fun by spending the evening at the north shore where the kids swam and we had a fabulous dinner of hamburgers and dutch oven potatoes.

Jameson loved swimming! Luckily, at the north shore, the water is really shallow for a long way out so he had a little freedom to swim and explore. He loved splashing with his feet; I think it was because he can't get away with it in the bathtub at home without getting yelled at!

The kids all enjoyed the shallow water and the time swimming with their friends.

There was plenty of mud to go around too!

*We now interrupt this program for a special news bulletin* Okay, so actually I just wanted to stop and point out that, in the above photograph, one of these things is NOT like the other! We need no further proof that Dallin was cut from a different mold than my other kids. Dicie fits right in next to the Medina's kids, who are part Mexican, but Dallin is practically glowing! Mia and Jameson are just as dark as Dicie. In fact, at a family party over the weekend, my aunt kept insisting that Jameson looks like a Polynesian baby. Anyway...
*Now back to your regularly scheduled program*

The camping part of our trip was a lot of fun too. Jameson was pretty thrilled with the whole thing and especially enjoyed having a camp chair his size to lounge in.

I love seeing all the kids sitting together like this. Whose kids are whose? It seriously wouldn't matter to me.
I'd take them all.

Your pics are really cute! Sorry, I meant to write you back earlier, but my brain is turning to mush I guess! My new lens is the 50mm 1.8 for a Cannon. I really like it, except it doesn't zoom, and I am a little bit addicted to zooming in and out!! But, so far its a good match!
I LOVE Bear Lake! We usually go over the 24th of July week too, except I bagged out this year for maternity leave. Very Cute pictures and I'm glad you had fun. (Dallin got lots of sunscreen I hope while you were swimming.)
