Only a Mother Could Love

At Avery's last Dr. appointment I was told she needed to be gaining a little more weight.  I offered to give her some, but apparently it doesn't work that way.  According to Doctor, gaining weight requires eating more.

Well, duh.

But here's the thing:  I cannot get this child to eat baby food.  She just does not get it.

Baby Food =
(Aunt Holly will admire the distance she's getting with that tongue)

For some reason she is wired like a canine.  She's got this tongue maneuver going in an attempt to lap up all that "mouth-watering" mush.  Despite the protruding tongue though, her jaw is clamped down like a vice and no amount of force will allow a spoon, much less its contents, inside.

Have I mentioned how weird this child is?

As for eating and gaining weight ... don't worry babe, I've got your back.

Yup, she must somehow get that tongue from me! Don't know how that could possibly work, but it must somehow! Ha ha! What a goofball.

You could get a syringe from your pharmacist and try some rice cereal with that. I use those with my kids all the time. Maybe Tysen could share a few pounds with her... he's only about 3 lbs less than Madi right now.

That is some serious tongue! Kian was told he needed to eat more. But his tongue is so short I have never seen him stick it out at all. I'm not even sure he can! His method was to spit everything.
