Lookin' Good!

We had our family pictures taken in July by my favorite photographer, Veronica Reeve!  I love her style so much that we went clear to Ogden to have her do our pictures.  Okay, so we were in Utah anyway!  I had WAY too much fun styling our family for our pictures.  Seriously, I probably went overboard, but it was just SO fun!  I made a style board and everything.  I know what you're thinking (overkill!) but putting coordinating outfits together for 7 people is challenging!  I was going for coordinating, without being matchy.  Here's my style board:

I didn't purchase the skirts shown for the girls, but made them myself for a pittance.  Dicie's skirt was $1.50 instead of the $50 J.Crew skirt shown!  I also couldn't afford those fantastic lavender ballet flats for Dicie (also J.Crew) and I was a little sad about that because they had been the inspiration for the entire color palette!  I splurged with that jacket for Brett though, but it is very nice quality and he looks fabulous in it!  I can't wait for cooler weather so he can wear it more!

The kids were BAD for pictures.  Seriously, I was so disappointed afterwards!  Jameson was a stinker, he wouldn't keep his shoes on, and he kept throwing tantrums and running around out of control.  Avery would NOT keep her cardigan or her headband on and she kept throwing fits too.  Mia would only smile half the time, they all whined and complained a lot... you get the picture.  I walked away thinking, "Well, at least our outfits were cute!"

BUT, I must have just been paranoid!  I was SO thrilled to see how our pictures turned out!  Veronica managed to get some good shots despite what she had to work with:

I think this one is my fave - the brick is fantastic!

I had Veronica take plenty of pictures of me with the kids.  I don't have enough of those because I'm always the one behind the camera!  I love these with Dicie and Avery.

Thanks Veronica!

You are such a photo diva! Great style board! The pictures turned out great. I know how hard it is--YOU know how hard it is for me--to get everyone cooperating at the same time. The more kids, the more difficult! That's why we go with some pics where the kids aren't exactly perfect, but look like themselves!
