It's been a few years since our last trip to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. Wow, it has really changed! Now they have dinosaurs!
Okay, they have animatronic-dinosaurs, but that's practically the same thing. Besides, after our zoo trip the kids forgot all about the elephants and monkeys and couldn't stop talking about the dinosaurs.
We went to the zoo for cousin Autumn's 2nd birthday and had a great time. Grandpa Furr, Tracy, Brady, and Brian & Kimber & Autumn joined us. It was HOT, but we survived it - the water-misters that were strategically placed around the zoo were almost more popular than the dinosaurs!
Jameson wearing his alligator shirt, standing by the alligator - he's obviously SO excited.
The stroller gang - thrilled to be here.
Funny story - when we were in the awesome-smelling gorilla building we all watched the huge primate behind the glass as he sat there and did nothing. Typical zoo fare. Everyone moved on while I rolled Avery right up to the glass so she could also see the gorilla do nothing. Apparently that gorilla has a thing for blondes because he walked right up to the glass and stared down at Avery, just inches from her face. Avery, seeing no appeal in the hairy creature before her (she must not have seen Beauty and the Beast yet), burst into terrified tears. I'm sure the gorilla was heartbroken as I pushed my petrified Beauty out of the building.

Wow, I didn't know they'd improved the zoo since we went there just a year or two ago. Cool! Love the gorilla story.
