We Didn't Forget the Birthday Girl

With 365 days in the year, you would think that any family could manage to spread their birthdays out somewhat evenly. But most larger families that I know seem to have at least a few birthdays squished together, even to the point of sharing birthdays! Our family has been unable to escape this as well with Beckham arriving 3 days before Mia's birthday.

Despite all the baby commotion, my sweet girl did not turn 6 unnoticed!

Mia is one sweet girl. She is cheerful and positive and playful. She is kind to others and sensitive to their feelings. She expresses affection freely and often and is very forgiving. Lately she has adopted Avery as her playmate and the two of them have a lot of fun together. Mia loves Kindergarten and seems to be very friendly with the other children. She is smart and loves to learn and soaks up all kinds of information, particularly anything about animals or dinosaurs. She loves to draw and create and follows right in Dicie's footsteps, using up reams and reams of paper with her artwork.

We didn't do much really for Mia's birthday, but she didn't seem to mind at all. We still had birthday pancakes and hung up the birthday banner. She was so thrilled for it to be her special day that she didn't notice the absence of a party. I just loved watching her open her gifts in the evening. She was openly excited about every gift, even the clothes, and was the most thrilled with her new scripture case and her own Book of Mormon with her name engraved on it. I just love and admire the spiritual gift that is her happy nature.

Happy 6th Birthday Mia!
