Beckham at 6 Months

Beckham reached the 6 month mark in June! I managed to snap a few photos of him that day, but he wasn't in the mood for Paparazzi-Mom. I didn't get this post done that day, and now it's a month and a half later and he's 7 1/2 months old! Oh well. I'll record a little about him at 6 months up until now!

At his 6 month Dr. appointment he weighed in at a whopping 20 lb. 4 oz! 

Not long after he turned 6 months, his first two teeth finally popped through. Teething was not fun.

Beckham is still not sleeping through the night. At all. Ever. (sigh) We'll get there someday I hope!

Beckham is a real talker! He definitely likes to be heard. He's always making noise whether he's babbling, gurgling, spitting, or let's face it - crying. My personal favorite is "Ma-ma" or "Mom-mom." He says it a lot, but the best is when I wake up at night to hear him crying "Ma-ma-ma" from his crib. So cute (except for the middle-of-the-night part). And yeah, I realize he probably has no idea what he's "saying."

He started sitting up on his own right around the 7 month mark, and now he's just days away from crawling. He'll  push himself up on his hands and knees or his hands and toes, and he can turn himself around in circles and squirm himself around enough that we have to clear a pretty wide "safety zone" around him that is free of pennies, perler beads, or tinker toys. We've really got to step up our game if we want him to make it to his 1st birthday. Yesterday he started gagging and I found a whole dried apricot in his mouth, thanks to big sister Avery offering him snacks.

Beckham is a pretty sweet little guy. He can seem a little high maintenance sometimes, demanding a lot of attention, but he really LOVES attention. If he's being held he's much more likely to be content and happy for longer periods of time. He loves to go places. I've noticed that when we're at church or out and about everyone comments on what a happy baby he is. He really isn't that remarkably pleasant at home, so I'm never quite sure how to respond to such praise! I think he loves playing to a crowd and being out seeing new things. He recognizes all of his favorite people. Mom is his true love, Dad is a very close second, and Dicie, Dallin, Mia, and Jamo are all pretty popular. Avery on the other hand has become a bit of a tyrant and Beckham is learning to start crying when he sees her coming, just to save time.

We love this cuddly, snuggly, silly little guy!
