Our Oregon Coast Vacation, Part III: Newport

Tuesday we drove to Newport and started out with a visit to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We saw some awesome creatures and sea life!

Moon Jellyfish (my personal fave)
Giant Green Anemone
 Bat Rays
Leopard Sharks - the kids loved walking through the shark tank tunnel!

Avery playing in the children's exhibit - Beckham hanging out in the stroller

Dallin trying on some underwater gear

Mia - Peek-a-Boo!   ---   Avery - well, almost!

The kids had fun playing outside on some cool animal sculptures!

Him + Me

After our fun at the aquarium we went to lunch. I HAD to have me some clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and we found it at The Chowder Bowl!
Grandpa treated us and Mmmmmm, it was delicious! And going out to lunch with 6 kids wasn't a horrifying experience either! ; ) They had great kid food and the kids ate heartily and behaved really well.

After lunch we had planned to visit the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, but the weather was so cool and windy that we decided to skip it. Grandma and Grandpa went without us and we stopped in to visit our friends, the Thorntons, who used to live across the street but abandoned Boise for beautiful Newport!
The Thorntons before the move - I neglected to take any pictures during our visit!
I couldn't believe how much the kids had grown - especially the twins who were walking! Gah!
We miss you guys!

When we returned from Newport we went to the beach for a while, then Brett and the kids warmed up in the hot tub, as they'd be dying to do! They really enjoyed splashing around in that thing throughout the week.
