Our Utah Sick-cation

After spending the 4th of July in Twin Falls, the kids and I traveled on to Utah to hang with the family there. My sister, Holly, and her family were there from California so it was a good opportunity to see her and visit. Upon arriving, I was greeted with hugs, hello's, and the stomach flu advisory committee.

Holly and I were both husband-less and got to enjoy the effects of a raging virus upon our combined 9 children. Normally, one would consider this the stuff of nightmares, especially considering that Holly is mid-way through her pregnancy. And yeah, it was pretty bad. But having your Mom around really makes everything better! Not to mention a helpful kid-sister and a couple of teenage brothers. The worst part was that I got sick at the very end of our trip and it hit hard enough that I was wiped out and unable to travel home the day I'd planned - which meant Dallin had to miss Cub Scout Day Camp. I was so upset about him missing his first day camp, and Dallin was pretty disappointed. But my brothers, Tracy and Brady, helped to pull off our own Day Camp at Grandma's house! Dallin still got to do a lot of fun things, even swimming, archery, and bb-shooting! He loved it.

Other highlights from our time at Grandma's:
Extended family BBQ with my Mom's fam.
Brick Oven with the sisters (of course!)
Cabela's with the kids (hey, don't knock it - the one in Lehi is AWESOME!)
Swimming in Grandma's pool

And I think the Water Obstacle Course was the most memorable! At least it was the thing I actually took pictures of! When I was a kid we did a water obstacle course like this several times I think. It was always a blast! We re-created many of the same obstacles for the next generation! It was so fun it deserves its own slide show:

And here's a picture of all 13 grandkids (plus my sister Katrina) and their snuggle blankeys!
