Yesterday I had 2 very bizarre, out-of-the-ordinary experiences. And I didn't even have to leave home!
It was morning, and I got online to do my usual thing: check email, catch up on a few blogs, etc. I went to Give Away Today because I am a sucker for entering give-aways. (I realize what that says about me - I'm a silly housewife, so sue me!) I scrolled down to check out what was new there and, lo and behold, there was my name. In print. Online. I was a winner! Guess what I won! Jewelry? Clothing? Uh, no. I won a "Winnie the Pooh: a Valentine for You Special Edition DVD." Woo. Hoo. Okay, but it was still kind of a thrill to win something!
Next I hopped over to The Pioneer Woman and she was doing a give-away for a set of kid's instruments. I entered my comment and hit submit, and there I was, #1. The first commenter! This may seem stupid, but it is just highly unlikely to be the first commenter on her blog. I mean, I commented at 9:43 am. 4 people commented at 9:44 am. In fact 400 people had commented by 10:07 am. There are now 7,019 comments 1 day later.
So apparently the universe was trying to tell me something yesterday:
I am not invisible. I have an existence outside the walls of my home, beyond dirty diapers, snotty noses, and screaming babies.
In a psychotic, desperate, attention-starved sort of way, it is strangely comforting.
And I've got Winnie the Pooh!

You not only have an existence outside the home, you're an absolute savior inside the home. We couldn't be happy without you. And it's not just the things you do for us (though they be many), it's the nurturing moments of motherhood that you may not recognize because it's just part of your nature. But we recognize them, we understand you love us, and we're better for it.
-I love you.
Ooh, that is something- being commenter number one on Pioneer Woman! Those instruments did look cute.
That is AWESOME!
Oh my and props to Brett for his comment.
Yep, the universe is definitely telling you exactly what you needed to hear. ;)
