Dicie has been a busy little actress lately! Her 4th grade class recently participated in a 2-week drama intensive that culminated in their performance of, "The Pirates of Grammar Island!" Dicie, aka the Queen of Pronouns, will forever be doomed to formulating sentences with this stuck in her head:
They don't say "Arrrg" or "That's me ship"
They don't ask "Who ye be?"
The subjects of their sentences
And all their verbs agree.

I even coerced Brett into helping me upload video! Here's a clip of Dicie's solo (it's just under 2 min. long). The video was taken on Brett's phone and it's terrible, but at least you can (sort of) hear her and get the idea.
Dicie's most recent performance was a book report on a biography that had to be given in the form of a monologue. She had chosen to do her report on Sacagawea since she already had an Indian costume, but the books about her were all checked out at the Library. So she chose Eleanor Roosevelt because we had ideas for a costume! She did a great job writing, memorizing, and performing her monologue. And she made a fantastic Eleanor Roosevelt if I do say so myself (although the costume, hair, and makeup make her look WAAAAAYY too old)!

Holy cow! I NEVER did anything like that at school. This school seems really amazing. And that was a looong thing to memorize! She did a great job and does look way too grown up. Yikes! How fun for her to do these sorts of things.
You are a real star, Dicie! You have a beautiful singing voice, and all your studying really paid off in your presentation of Eleanor Roosevelt. It was great. You looked stupendous in your fur jacket, jewelry, and red lipstick.
